Cahokia Mounds Summer Camp
Native youth come to Cahokia Mounds for a week of fun, excitement, adventure, learning and growing. During this week, a wide variety of educators and artisans from Native communities lead activities, such as games that promote personal empowerment, leadership, team-building, nature hikes, dugout canoe building, storytelling, ecology, exploration of the environment, eco art, and more. Cultural components include teachings and support from local members of the Native community
The specific goal of the Cahokia Mounds camp is to nurture personal growth and confidence in a safe and culturally appropriate environment that enhances leadership, teamwork and pride in the American Indian youth of St. Louis and the surrounding area.
