Stephanie Kettler, president
Stephanie Kettler is a member of the Oglala Lakota tribe who jumped onboard with us last summer to pursue her life purpose of giving back to her native community. Working as Program Manager at Washington Universitys Kathryn Buder Center for American Indian Studies, she continues to advocate the importance of education while making a stand for the Native American peoples of the St. Louis region. Her involvement with the Pine Ridge reservation began in its effort to serve the immediate needs through the donation of food, clothing and household goods in a grassroots awareness campaign.
Ed Smith, Vice-President
Ed Smith (Osage descendant) is 33 years old. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at the Heart of America Indian Center, Haskell Extension Advisory Board, and Field of Plenty. Ed works at Johnson County Community College for the American Indian Health Research and Education Alliance as a Research Program Coordinator. Ed has taught cultural classes and Tae Kwon Do at Heart of America Indian Center and Haskell Indian Nations University. He serves as coordinator for the Spotted Eagle Dance Troupe. He currently lives in Overland Park Kansas with his wife and four children.
Ed is a Southern Straight Dancer. He has served as headman dancer and arena director at many of the powwows around the Kansas City area. He is also an accomplished beadwork artist and painter, winning many regional art competitions with his work.
Ed has an interdisciplinary degree in American Indian Studies, Social Work, and Political Science from the University of Missouri- Columbia. While there, he served as President and Vice- President of the Native American Student Organization- From the Four Directions. Prior to that time Ed grew up in the St. Louis area where he was involved with the St. Louis Indian Center, and the St. Louis Indian Society.
Ed finds being a father and his work with youth the most rewarding.
"I enjoy watching these young people learn about their culture, where their families come from. I also enjoy teaching them about where they can go. And that there are opportunities out there for them in the world that go beyond their home and their comfort zone. I want them to know that there is a world out there that our creator has laid out before them but they have to go to it, it wont come to them."

Deborah Horsefall-Morley, treasurer
Deborah Horsfall-Morley has over 25 years of human resources and management consulting experience for both nonprofits and corporations. Current clients and projects include Human Resources Consultant for Wyman Center, a nationally recognized youth development organization; Co-Facilitator for a Teen Outreach Program in collaboration with College Bound at University City High School; and Communications/Coordination Liaison between Washington Universitys Science Outreach Department and the University City School District on middle school redesign.
Deborah currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer on the board of directors for Field of Plenty, the Advocacy Board of Family Resource Center, and the Executive Committee of University Hills Womens League; is a member of the Parent-Teacher Organizations at Brittany Woods Middle School and University City High School; and is a Field Instructor for second year Master of Social Work practicum students/interns. She is also mother to middle-school and high school-aged daughters and finds time to be a Health and Wellness Coach.
Deborah received her Master of Business Administration from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO and has completed coursework in nonprofit management at University College at Washington University in St. Louis. In addition, Deborah has experience in creating fundraising materials, setting up a new nonprofit and writing grant applications.

Charlotte McCloskey, PhD
Charlotte McCloskey, PhD, (Sicangu Lakota Nation) is a counseling psychologist. She is currently serving as a staff psychologist at the Kansas City Veterans Administration Medical Center in Behavioral Health, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Clinic and provides outreach services to Native American Veterans. Dr. McCloskey serves on the board of directors for Field of Plenty. Dr. McCloskey has taught a variety of college courses including Group Theory, Graduate Horizons for Native American Undergraduates, Native American Cultures and Counseling, Human Development, and Multicultural Research, Counseling and Consultation.
Dr. McCloskey is currently a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association of Veterans Administration Psychologist Leaders, and a former member of the Missouri Psychological Association, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Missouri, Society of Indian Psychologists and Health Professionals, and the Society for the Advancement of Native Americans and Chicanos in Science.

Peter Aranda
Appointed Executive Director and CEO of The Consortium in 2003, Peter Aranda brings with him first-hand knowledge of the organization as a Consortium Alumnus. Prior to managing a non-profit, Peter achieved success in the business arena at Andersen Consulting, Price Waterhouse, MCA, and by running his own entertainment consulting company. Notwithstanding his commercial endeavors, he also experienced success in academia by serving as an adjunct faculty or guest lecturer in business at Belmont University, Parson’s School of Design, University of Virginia, University of Southern California and Columbia University. In addition, Peter has been involved with the Ph.D. Project, whose mission is to recruit and support underrepresented minorities in an effort to create diverse business school faculties. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Southern California. His undergraduate study also includes significant coursework in mechanical engineering. He received a Master of Information Management and MBA from Washington University and has completed all coursework, residency requirements and qualifying exams (ABD) for the Ph.D. degree, Management of Organizations Division, at Columbia University.
Electa hare,, junior board member
Electa Hare is 25 years old and a member of Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma, Pitahawirata Band on her mothers side and Yankton descendant on her Fathers side. Her elders have encouraged her to become a warrior woman for Indian Country, and this is a challenge she does not take lightly. She is a strong advocate for Native Rights and Sovereignty and the strength of the oppressed. She is currently a Care Coordinator at the Tulsa Indian Health Care Resource Center.
Electa was a Kathryn M Buder Scholar George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in Saint Louis, where she received her Master in Social Work degree in May 2009. While at the Brown School, Electa concentrated her studies on Mental Health and Health in Indian Country. With the help of Paul Shattuck, PhD, and Amanda Blackhorse, MSW, Electa developed a poster, American Indian Children with Special Health Care Needs: Prevalence and Functional Status, and presented it at the 2009 Indian Health Summit in Denver, CO.
Electa is a member of the Kathryn M. Buder Students, Associates, and Alumni Association, serves on the Systems of Care Advisory Board and is certified as a Positive Indian Parenting Trainer. She has been featured in media spots, including Storybook on Native Health An American Debt Unpaid, Practicum Experience Highlight In Nexxus magazine, and Impact of Scholarships for Washington University in St. Louis.

Matthew Kull, junior board member
Matthew Kull earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH. Prior to arriving at Washington University, Matt worked for several years on the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Reservations in SD as Program Director for the South Dakota region of Teach for America. Matt graduated from Washington University this May with a Master of Social Work with an individualized concentration in Policy and Program Development and Analysis with Native Nations.
Margaux Carrimon, intern
Margaux Carrimon is an enrolled member of the Ho-Chunk Nation. She began her pursuit of a Bachelor's of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where she concentrated in child welfare. She completed her BSSW at Viterbo University in LaCrosse, WI. Margaux is currently a Kathryn M Buder Scholar at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in Saint Louis and is a candidate to graduate in December of 2009.
